Ken and Terri Lee McDonald
I was 18 years old, had been through a broken home, raised with evolution, and started drinking when I was 12. For me there was no reason to live, no purpose for life, and I could see no future ahead of me. My life was a life of music and escaping reality through drugs and booze.
One cold night in November 1977, my friends, some of whom had recently been born again, and I were on top of Mt. Elizabeth, high up in the mountains of California. They had been talking to me for a couple of weeks about Jesus Christ. This night we were talking about the Lord coming back to the earth and that He was going to set up his kingdom on this earth for 1000 years. The curse would be lifted off of nature, and He would rule from Jerusalem. I was an environmentalist, so this captured my attention, but I also knew that I was a sinner, and would not be included if I did not ask Jesus Christ to come into my heart and save me.
I left the mountain top and arrived home in the early morning hour. Alone in the mountain cabin, up in the loft, I knelt beside my bed and prayed, “Dear Jesus, I don’t know how to pray. I’ve never really prayed before. But I know that I am a sinner, and I believe that you died on the cross for me. Please forgive me of my sins, and come into my heat and save me. Amen!” With tears of joy, I knew and sensed, that the Lord Jesus Christ had come into my heart and saved me.
Are you saved? Have you ever prayed, and confessed to God that you are a sinner? Have you ever asked Jesus Christ to come into your heart and save you? If not, then you NEED to call upon the Lord Jesus Christ or you will end up in Hell.
The Bible says, “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Rev. 20:15 When I prayed that night, my name was written in the book of life. Is your name written there?
